.) In order to start the journey for a Griswold Golden puppy you will need to submit a puppy application. Completion of the Puppy Application does not guarantee that you will be approved or commit you to anything yet.
.) Once you submit your application we will set up a phone interview with you to initiate a conversation with us and tell us a bit about yourself and what you have in mind for your future pup!. After we review you application and conduct a phone interview, you will be notified of your applications approval or refusal. We reserve the right to deny anyone at any time if we feel that they're not the right fit for one of our puppies.
.) If you have been approved, congratulations! You're one step closer to bringing home your very own Griswold Goldens companion! Your next step is to officially reserve your spot on our list by submitting a NONREFUNDABLE $200 reservation fee and review our Reservation List Agreement (linked below)! Payments may be made through Venmo or Zelle. Your reservation fee goes towards the final price of your puppy. Once you submit your reservation fee you will be added to our master waitlist. Our waitlist is in order of reservation fee submit date. When we do have puppies available or litters coming up we will make our way down our waitlist and ask you if you would like a puppy from the upcoming litter. At that time if you are happy with the parents, expected colors, size, etc. you can reserve a spot on that litter. If you are not we will skip you and move onto the next person. You will keep your spot on the waitlist and we start at the top of our waitlist and make our way down the list every litter.
.) Now comes the hardest part of all... WAITING! I often get asked "How soon can I expect my puppy?" and I really wish I could answer that for everyone! Although we may have a general idea of the litters that will be bred throughout the year, there are several things that we just can't predict until a litter has arrived such as litter size, gender ratio, color/markings, and coat types available. Those factors all play a part in which wait list families will be interested in a given litter. Keep in mind that each family has an idea of what they're looking for in their future companion, just as you do. For that reason, our wait list is ever changing. Each family has the flexibility to remain on the wait list for as long as they need to find the right fit. Nobody is locked into a specific litter. Occasionally, families that are ahead of you in rank may pass on a current litter and choose to wait for a future litter. If enough families do this, you may have the chance to get a puppy from that current litter. In the event that you decide to go with that current litter, and don't find what you're looking for, you will get back on the wait list in order of your reservation fee submit date.
Typically, families who are more flexible when it comes to their preferences for their future puppy's gender, color/markings, coat type, preferred take home timing etc. will often find their match and bring a puppy home more quickly than someone with a longer list of criteria. If you are a person with specific preferences when it comes to these things, that is great, too, just know that you may experience a longer wait time to find your exact match! Every family is different, and that's okay!
